Blue and Orange Clinic

In Health Information, News and events

To keep everyone as safe as possible, we are separating patients with potentially infectious symptoms, for those who are well, starting Thursday 19/3/20.

At the top of our stairs, Patients with symptoms will be seen in the right-hand side of the surgery between midday and 6 PM. In the left hand side of the surgery and in the right hand side of the surgery before 11:30 AM we will see patients who do not have symptoms.

Our reception staff will identify on the phone if you have symptoms and direct you to the correct clinic for your care. They will also take your temperature upon arrival to make sure that you are well enough to go in to the well clinic. The clinic for people with symptoms is going to be called Blue clinic the clinic for people with no symptoms is going to be called Orange clinic. When you come to the stop of the stairs the receptionist will ask you if you here for Blue Orange clinic. If you are for Blue clinic you will proceed to the right. If you for Orange clinic they will check that you have no symptoms and take your temperature. If you are free from symptoms and has no temperature they will check you in and allow you to proceed through to the left.

If you come to the Orange clinic but you have symptoms or temperature you will be asked to return to your car. The doctor that you were going to see will then ring you and sort out what is the best way to deal with your problem. If you know you are ill please do not turn up Orange clinic. You will be charged for the phone consultation to sort you out and for any further care you need to. If you know you were unwell on the day of your Orange clinic appointment you must cancel that appointment and book an appointment for Blue clinic or contact us by phone to see how else we can resolve your problem. It will end up more cost effective and safer for you.

Our doctors are taking turns to staff the Blue clinic. This means that they may not be available in Orange clinic to do your regularly scheduled work. During this time you may have to see doctors who are not your regular doctor either in Blue clinic or in Orange clinic. We have all your medical records here and our doctors communicate with one another.
