Blackbutt Won!
Blackbutt Doctors Surgery were awarded for ” Supporting Patients Through Technology” last night at the Primary Health Networks’ Primary Care Quality and Innovation Awards 2021. This was in recognition of our implementation of the Automed System, to manage our patient experience during the COVID crisis. Please watch the video below for more details.

Managing patient flow during the COVID-19 Pandemic

We’d like to give a big shout out to the PHN for creating this event to acknowledge quality – as Christie Dawes brought home in her moving speech – quality matters. A good doctor can change a life.

It was great to receive recognition for a team who just gets on and provides support to our patients and clinicians – Michal Kulcynski (Practice Manager) and Codie Stamford (Office Manager). One year in the job, and we all agree – you are the dream team!

Dr Michelle Redford is a UK trained GP with a background in quality management, who spends part of her working week at Blackbutt working behind the scenes on quality improvement for the practice. Thankyou Michelle for all you have done to protect our community during COVID – she is the person Uncle Bill was referring to last night, when he encouraged us all to keep that fire in our belly to pursue our highest goals. Michelle, you make the dream of quality a reality on the ground in our practice, despite the obstacles of real life – and especially 2020 and COVID!

Big thank you to the Automed team, and especially Louis Putter, who has been responsive, professional and so supportive.

We faced new health problems and legislative requirements every day – Louis you enabled us to offer our patients health care access that was responsive to the immediate environment.

Congratulations to the other winners – we were privileged and heartened to see the wonderful health care being delivered across our region by our colleagues. And thank you to our patients for coming along this journey with us and embracing the changes put in place to protect our community.
