COVID-19 booster and 3rd dose shots are now available

If you’re 18 years and over and it’s been 6 months since you received your last primary dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, you are eligible to receive a booster vaccine.

If you are immunocompromised(please check eligibility for this on our website) and are 12 years and over, you are eligible for a 3rd primary dose 2 to 6 months after your second dose.

The TGA has approved the Pfizer vaccine for the booster shots and 3rd dose, which is what you’ll receive even if you had another vaccine for your primary doses unless you’re unable to.

Getting a booster or 3rd shot is not mandatory, but it will help to maintain the best possible protection against COVID-19 as restrictions ease.

You can check when your last dose was by looking at your Immunisation History statement or COVID-19 certificate.
