Infectious Symptoms Clinic Ceasing

In Health Information, News and events

From Monday the 20th of March there will be a different way to manage clinic appointments.

To see your doctor, you will no longer have to think about the Infectious Symptoms Clinic (blue) and orange clinic system.
Instead, you will be able to book an appointment with your doctor at any time even if you have infectious symptoms. The infectious symptoms clinic will be ceasing.
Sometimes it is not safe for others or you to come into the surgery with infectious symptoms.

People who should continue to book a telephone or telehealth appointments include:

  1. Those with Covid or suspected Covid.
  2. Those with measles mumps rubella or varicella ( chickenpox) or who suspect they have this illness.

Those who have a cough, sneeze, sniffle or rash, fever, earache, urinary symptoms, vomiting or diarrhoea are now able to make a face-to-face appointment with their doctor at any time if that is what they wish.

Patients will still be required to wear a surgical mask while in the surgery. Patients who are coughing or sneezing excessively will be asked to wait downstairs or outside. This is to keep our waiting room safe.

If you are immune suppressed and prefer not to wait in the waiting room, we encourage you to come to the desk to check in and let reception know you will be waiting downstairs or outside. Your doctor will call you at your appointment time.

Thank you
