After completing my medical degree at the University of Sydney, I continued on to complete my training in the General Practice rural training stream in Central West NSW. I also gained extra training in Mental Health, as well as completing the Family Planning Training Course.
In 2002 I moved to Newcastle, and have had the privilege to work as a GP at Awabakal Medical Centre for 7 years, before starting at Blackbutt Doctors Surgery in 2010. I love working in my local community within walking distance from my home, caring for people of all ages and backgrounds. A true generalist from babies, adolescents, young adults, through to the elderly – I enjoy being able to provide continuity of health care to individuals and their families throughout their lives.
My personal interests include yoga, meditation, being active in the outdoors, and spending time in nature with friends and family. I am passionate about my vegetable garden and chooks, as well as contributing and being involved with my local community.
I am also very engaged in continuing education as a GP, and am coordinator of our group learning at Blackbutt Doctors Surgery. It is a privilege to be a member our highly professional and supportive team at Blackbutt Doctors Surgery, and to be able to serve this wonderful community.
